Commercial Fabric Manufacturer
A Sealpump Engineering Case Study
"Commercial fabric manufacturer improves test lab condition with accurate Dry Fog humidity control system"
Issue:
A leading manufacturer of commercial fabrics used from schools and offices through to trains, buses and hospitals, had problems in accurately controlling the relative humidity in their testing lab. This lab is where they need to test each product under different and often extreme environments, including how flammable it can be, therefore maintaining a stable environment is key.
Previous systems they had tried included steam humidification and an air atomising nozzle system, both proved unsuccessful for different reasons. The steam system was very expensive to run and maintain while the air atomising system created droplets which were too big, wetting machinery and staff working in the lab.
Solution:
Sealpump engineers visited site for a site survey and demonstrated our unique Dry Fog nozzle system which uses compressed air and water to create an ultra-fine spray consisting of droplets of between 1-5 micron. This demonstration made an immediate difference to the area of the lab we were testing and a full system was then installed. The full system comprised of a number of nozzle assemblies, filtration and control package with built in humidistat and timer unit.
This system provides accurate and repeatable control over the rh and can be easily adjusted either using the humidistat or timer. The lab room staff and operator have praised the accurate control and reliability of the system and have allowed them to concentrate on their work without having to worry about the room atmosphere.
